Nearby, Prambanan is the largest Hindu temple complex of ancient Java. It was built in the 9th century with 224 individual temples inside the compound. During the inspection, Kelly stated, "These sites are iconic treasures that will visually capture the attention and interest of the World Sky Race audience."

Preparations for the site survey included coordinating in-country activities with Al Busyra Basnur, Houston Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia.
